A Case of Bilateral Midline Paralysis of the Vocal Cords

Abstract
|

|
A case of midline paralysis of the vocal cords treated by woodman´s operation.
This patient is 40 years old man who was treated with X-ray therapy under the diagnosis of lymphoepithelioma .of the nasopharynx on Feb. -27-67.
After X-ray therapy, this patient´s subjective symptoms were much improved until the patient´s last visit to this hospital except mild dyspnea on exertion since about 3 years previously.
But this. patient complained of severe dyspnea on exertion since about 3 months previously.
On physical examination, we noticed midline paralysis of the vocal cords without abnormal mass under the direct laryngoscopy. And so, this patient was treated by woodman´s operation for vocal ccards paralysis.
